What is a Real Prophet?

16 April 2015 2 Comments

The Bible takes the existence of prophets for granted. Indeed, both the Old and the New Testament presuppose them, although their roles change from the Old to the New. Most people who have written about prophets, especially in a scholarly way, are themselves not numbered among them. This naturally shades their viewpoint, and not always favorably. Discover 15 characteristics of a mature prophet based on scripture to help you better understand how they think, feel, and act.

Dear brother or sister in Christ,

We are in a moment of acceleration and advancement in the Kingdom and we must take hold and seize the day. God is empowering, equipping, and strategically connecting His soldiers to raise up a Joel 2 army. It’s going to take generals who are equipped with vision to win the war.

Let us ask you …

  • Are you called to manifest God’s glory in these last days?
  • Are you seeking help to enable you to win seemingly insurmountable battles?
  • Would it help to connect with mentors who are equipped to help you release God’s power in your community?
  • Are you ready to teach others to teach others to be led by God’s Spirit?
  • Has God called you to join with people around the world to disciple the nations?

If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then we invite you to …

Soaring 222: Discipling the Nations

Teaching others to teach others to be led by God’s Spirit

The purpose of this 12 week Virtual Global Conference is teaching you to teach others to be led by God’s Spirit. We believe this will help you align with God’s purposes and plans, and empower your God given dreams. This program has within it the seeds to bring those dreams to life.

To disciple nations, we must first disciple people. Our vision is creating a global community of Christ followers who are empowered, equipped, and strategically connected for massive impact world-wide.

OK… I”m weeping as I write to you after listening and making notes about What Is A True Prophet. As a 66 year old, and hearing all the things listed, I can relate to Jeremiah 20:9 …So I say, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word IS in my heart like a burning fire. Shut up in my bones; I AM weary of holding it back, And I CANNOT.”

So now I know what’s been happening in me, to me and for me. God gave me a four year ‘plan’ and process to spend extra time with Him as I learn to prepare for this prophetic gift to be developed for when I turn 70, the year of the ‘elder’… and for what God needs me to do and be in the days to come in this Kingdom Age.

Thanks for giving us this information, and especially the examples in the Word, of the prophets. It’s a long story of my life and how I”m coming to this stage in my life, it’s ‘scary-exciting’. Thanks for this word and for the impartations. I can feel the anointing and the tears come often.

Love ‘n Prayers, Linda McKendry (Calgary, Alberta, CANADA)

Hi Dr Joseph, Ps Ken Fish and the other ministers gathered,
Thank you from the whole of my heart for sharing this message “What is a True Prophet”. I was able to identify and weep a little, with all of this teaching since God called me as a prophet to this nation of Australia in 1985. (PLEASE DO NOT PUBLISH THIS YET AS YOU WILL SOON HEAR ABOUT ALL I HAVE WRITTEN) A true prophetic ministry is, since God called me this way, the most rejected, and misunderstood and misjudged ministry in the Body of Christ. So many times God wanted His Holy Spirit revival in this nation of Australia to sweep this sunburnt land, but the ministers were too interested in building their own empires at that time and promoting their choice of ministers (instead of God’s choice). This new move that is coming forth at my church of Firstlight Ministries in Perth, WA will justify all of what I have written. I came from a very abused childhood, was called by God into the prophetic ministry at age 24, abused in the church and now at aged 54, a restoration ministry is being birthed with a wonderful Apostolic Father who has come down to my level to understand what it like to be rejected like the Chief Cornerstone. How often God wanted to move in this nation to draw the hearts of the Fathers to the children & the hearts of the children to the Fathers, and numerous Pastors have been judged in the process for not allowing God to have His way. The new move of God has been most often drowned out by religion and legalism also since that is strong in this nation of Australia. Thank you Ken for stating these attributes. Over the years I have gleaned from and have been very thankful for the teachings of John Paul Jackson, Bob Jones, Rick Joyner, Bill Hamon, Cindy Jacobs, to name a few and many other wonderful men & women of the Most High God. Thank you for allowing me to share this and Jesus is coming on the clouds of glory soon. Blessings, Jocelyn Hill
